Bunya Mountains National Park

No trip to Kingaroy is complete without a trip to the Bunya Mountains. A sensational scenic adventure, the Bunya Mountains has an average elevation of 975 meters, allowing amazing views of the areas sweeping plains and beautiful scenery. The Bunya Mountains is located 50Km from Kingaroy and is well worth the drive. 

Bunya Mountains are part of the Great Dividing Range which stretches all the way across into Victoria. This truly spectacular range has bush walking tracks, camping facilities and well appointed picnic sites to sit back and enjoy the surroundings. Consisting of woodlands, rainforests and grasslands steeped in history you simply must visit unwind and enjoy the adventure.  

A trip to the tourist information centre will provide you with a host of brochures outlining the sites to be seen, also along that tracks Parks and Wildlife have installed history plaques to aid in your enjoyment.

Kingaroy Heritage Museum

A true folk museum showcasing the agricultural history of the region and pastoral history. The museum also has a large machinery display also containing an original peanut harvesting machine that was built on an original farm of the area. 

Sir Joh Bjelke-Petersen's property

You simply cannot go to Kingaroy without visiting Sir Joh & Lady Flo's property, head south past the airport on the left hand side there is a sign to (Bethany) Look for the Australian flag that often flyes above the house.

Really this is the place to begin your adventure of the Kingaroy area, located in Haly Street Kingaroy Tourist Information & Arts Heritage has all the information you need for exploring the area.

Offering the visitor local souvenirs, information about the peanut industry and displaying a wonderful art collection, it is in itself a wonderful location to visit.

Adjoining the building is the Heritage Museum, the centre also provided information about the Bjelke-Petersen home and information on how to reach the property.
